Es Sekoteng, Siomay Bandung, Toge Goreng

LUNCH AT PERTOK PONDOK INDAH

Today I have lunch at Pertok in Pondok Indah, I order Toge Goreng (Fried Sprout) - actualy it's not fried but it's a steamed sprout, mix with oncom, mie kuning (yellow noodle) and a yellow cracker. The taste is so traditional - it's a West Java food - and it's a light meal for me...

I also order Siomay Bandung...it's made from steamed fish mix with some flour and served with peanut sauce - usually hot sauce. For the dessert we order Es Sekoteng - this one is similar to Es Teler - it's made from Avocado, Young Coconut, Pacar Cina and milk...

For all the food we eat, I have to pay Rp. 38.000...it's around US$ 4...

Just go to kemang you'll find DimSum Festival with alot of DimSum menu. You also have to try the Mi Item (Black Noodle), and others food from local food to international food.

Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice)

This is the budget food we can find on the street. Yup it's a Fried Rice!!!
What make it different? There are several type of Fried Rice in Indonesia :

  1. Nasi Goreng Jakarta aka. Nasi Goreng Dokdok aka. Nasi Goreng Tektek.
  2. Nasi Goreng Surabaya aka. Nasi Goreng Merah
  3. Nasi Goreng Mawut - Mix with noodle
  4. Nasi Goreng Cabe Rawit - cooked with chilli - HOT!!!
  5. and many more
My pick : if you're in Jakarta you can try this Nasi Goreng Apotek Jaya on panglima polim or you can try Nasi goreng Kebon Sirih if you like Lamb. If you're in Surabaya you can try nasi goreng Embong - their speciality is Nasi Goreng Mawut.

Anyer

Anyer is located on the south beach of Java island before charita beach.

It has a lovely beach there, a good wave for playing body board, nice view, good sunset spot and a lot choice for hotels started from Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 2.000.000.

Hotel

Sol Elite Marbella is one of the chioce to stay at anyer. A hotel and apartment building on the beach but don't have a private beach. The roomrate for the hotel is around Rp. 1.700.000 but you can also rent the apartment from the owner (they put announcement on their door for contact number) for less. The different is on the service. If you stay at the hotel you'll get a good service like hotels service in general but if you stay at the aparment you'll have to do everything by yourself.

Another chice is the BANDULU - a cottage form resort not far from the Sol Elite Marbella. This also a good option if you come in a group.

Food

There also a lot chioce for food, you can get it from restaurant in/outside the hotel or you can ask the people to cook for you and deliver it to your room. The main menu is fish, prawn and squid. One of the people you can ask is IBU WATI, you can order ikan kakap merah, ikan bawal, ikan kue and udang(prawn) from her and ask her to deliver it to your room. The p-rice range is from Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 250.000.

Transportation

You can go there by travel bus or use your own car (rent).
The distance from Jakarta is about +/- 175 KM, for 2.5 hours trip through the Serpong Toll.

Tips

There are lots of native seller on the beach wich annoying sometime, you can avoid them by ignoring them or tell them that you already have the service - this one works.
The coconut on the beach sell for Rp. 5.000 and also the mineral water.

Enjoy!!!
